Aurora Expert Certification
Are you interested in being certified as an expert in Northern Lights by Aurora Labs? If you would like to get your own, nominative certificate concerning this beautiful phenomenon, then find out on this page everything you need to know about the Aurora Labs certificates.
As part of the Aurora EDU programme, Aurora Labs issues certificates in conjunction with the scientific approach concerning the Northern Lights. This means that, in order to be able to get such a certificate, you need to be able to confirm your knowledge in this subject, through a written evaluation method.
To be able to get your certificate, you need to have followed training in the Aurora Science. Aurora Labs does offer this scientific training through the “Learn the Aurora” Northern Lights workshop here in Vadsø, or through the “Learn the Aurora Online” Northern Lights online course.
So, to be able to get an Aurora Labs certificate, you need to either:
• carry out the “Learn the Aurora Online” Northern Lights course on the Aurora Labs Online platform, or
• take part in a “Learn the Aurora” Northern Lights workshop during your trip to Vadsø.
Currently, Aurora Labs offers three types of certificates.
1. The Certificate of participation to either the “Learn the Aurora” Northern Lights workshop here in Vadsø, or the “Learn the Aurora Online” Northern Lights online course. You can get this upon written request to Aurora Labs, once you either purchase access to “Learn the Aurora Online” Northern Lights online course or after you take part in the “Learn the Aurora” workshop here in Vadsø.
2. The Certificate of completion of any one of the Learn the Aurora activities (the workshops here in Vadsø or the online course). You can get this after you pass the final test of any of these activities.
3. The Certification as a Northern Lights expert. This is the most valuable certificate and, in order to obtain it, you need to pass the free, optional Aurora Labs online exam. If needed, Aurora Labs can confirm the validity and authenticity of this type of certificate.
To take the Aurora Labs free online exam you will need to attend either the “Learn the Aurora” Northern Lights workshop during your stay in Vadsø or the “Learn the Aurora Online” Northern Lights online course. If you fail, you will have to attend a new workshop or course again, to be able to take part in the exam again.

The workshop’s final test is a fun way to test your newly acquired knowledge in Northern Lights, during either the “Learn the Aurora” Northern Lights workshop here in Vadsø or the “Learn the Aurora Online” Northern Lights online course). The test is rather easy, and a rather short time is needed to complete all the questions.
The Aurora Labs exam on the other hand, is a thorough online written assessment, with more questions of different difficulties. The time needed to complete the exam is between 1 and 2 hours. Access to the online exam will be provided upon request, after having taken part in either the Northern Lights workshop or the Northern Lights online course.
Any one of the Aurora Labs certificates are issued free of charge. You don’t pay anything extra (apart from the price of the “Learn the Aurora” Northern Lights workshop or “Learn the Aurora Online” Northern Lights online course that you followed) neither for taking part in the final test or in the Aurora Labs exam, nor for the issue of your nominative certificate.
